Exploring the labyrinthine workings of the subconscious – mine and others’ – to discover both the difficult moments we carry and the precious parts of ourselves hidden beneath. Through this work, I help people shed layers of false selves to reveal the incredible love, compassion, and endless joy we all embodied as young children, and can learn to rest in and share with others again.
My practice is guided by a strong desire for truth and direct experiences of energy and awakening. I have been blessed with incredible teachers from a variety of traditions who showed me how to connect with myself and divine presences. My journey has lead me to play with the flows of Tai Chi, become a Reiki Master (since 1999), work with Plant Spirit Medicine, chant in Arabic with Sufis, recite ancient mantras in Sanskrit and Telegu, share in the raising and education of dozens of children and travel the world.
my approach: inner space techniques
Building on my work as energy healer, teacher and counselor I am delighted to share with you the modality of the Inner Space Techniques (IST). I’ve been working with IST for over ten years in hundreds of sessions as both client and connector, and became a certified practitioner in 2022. It is part of my ongoing study at the Clairvision School of meditation and spiritual awakening, where I am continually awed by how much more there is to discover in subtle realms.
What makes these techniques so powerful is that IST practitioners work on themselves for many years before they start seeing clients. We know our own consciousness deeply and have experienced the inner landscape of many other people. This builds a grounded, not-born-yesterday attitude and the ability to hold stillness and clarity even when profoundly intimate or traumatic episodes are revealed.
background & influences
I was born in Germany and lived there and in Austria until I was 14. My love of learning and understand how things work lead me to study Physics at Reed College, then Massage and Reiki in my 20s, Herbalism at the School of Forest Medicine and with Cascade Andersen Geller and the Landmark Curriculum for Living. Other topics I have explored in depth include astrology, nutrition and healing diets, democratic and early childhood education, anti-racism and permaculture.
I love to teach and have offered classes in Reiki, herbalism and botany, Tai Chi, art journaling, parenting in the pandemic, shibari, fermentation, and meditation. My parents showed me the joy of traveling in Europe and the US which I have continued by visiting Australia, Nepal, China, Mongolia, Russia, Peru, Mexico, and India.
Inspired by and committed to healthy communities I worked at People’s Food Co-op, co founded and ran the Village Free School and lived at the Tryon Life Community Farm. Since 2005 I have been counseling families and couples, weaving all these experiences into my practice.
when I’m not working
You’ll find me dancing, painting, gardening, fermenting foods, harvesting herbs, playing the ukulele, or sharing quality time with my daughter, friends, and cats. Meditation remains a daily anchor, and these joyful activities keep me connected to the playfulness and wonder that infuse my work.
